Since its formation in 1976, Hyundai-Kia Machine Corporation has demonstrated its technical prowess in a number of manufacturing endeavors ranging from automobile parts, machine tools, robots, and presses to heavy machinery and aircraft parts, and is now aggressively entering the automotive module business and setting up casting and engine factories in China.

The Long Road to Foundation

1976 Company foundation
1977 Began manufacturing machining tools
1979 Began manufacturing gear shifters for automobiles
1983 Developed Korea's first machining center
1985 Established TSCL (Joint Venture with TRW of the U.S.)
1986 Took over and merged with the Changwon Factory of Korea Heavy Machinery Industries
  Established Kia Machinery Technology Institute
  Completion of the Namsan Factory in Changwon
1988 Completion of trial manufacturing and testing factory
